For this collection of fine art prints in my style "Lights and Colors" and in my theme "Around the World", I chose to display fawns as the subject.

My first encounter with a fawn took place in the forest of La Coubre in Charente-Maritime in western France. It is an area where I spend a lot of time searching for deer and wild boars to photograph.

On a sunny June day, while wearing camouflage clothing that matched the pine forest I was walking in, I encountered a rare spectacle.

In a clearing, a doe was circling around a small area covered by grass that had grown tall during the spring. I was wondering what it was that had motivated her to circle this spot.

I set up my equipment, taking care not to make noise. After one hour of waiting, I suddenly saw a miniature hairy form emerge from the grasses. It was a newly born fawn. This first encounter with a red deer fawn is forever engraved in my memory. I will never forget this moment of grace and fullness. I was utterly captivated by those joyful moments that nature had handed me.

Since that day, I annually attempt to photograph fawns and fallow deer.

In our youth, we were certainly entranced by the movie Bambi directed by Walt Disney. I am sure that many children have become swept away in thought while reading the book that the movie was based on. Such a charming story is not easily forgotten in adulthood.

When we become adults, we may feel like the fawns are animals that we have always known, even if we never encountered one in person. Yet, few people have had the chance to see a fawn live in the wild. Does are always very protective. They hide their offspring in secret and remote places away from predators.

I appreciate how fortunate I have been to observe fawns in a wild and natural environment.

Symbolically, the fawn represents childhood, nature, and fragility. Everyone is always touched by the photograph of a fawn.

The fawn represents a child who is dependent on his parents. As he grows stronger, he must learn wisdom. I wanted to capture the theme of youth in these adorable fawns.

Some of these artistic photographs show fawns who are alone in meadows or undergrowth. I wanted to symbolize the early stages of life, when a child is “alone” because he is the youngest.

Others may portray young fawns hiding in tall grass. For me, these photographs symbolize the game of hide and seek that I played when I was a child.

Other photographers depict a fawn and a doe. This symbolizes how a mother guides her child through the early stages of learning life.

Each of these fine art prints has a strong symbolic significance. It is up to you to see your own perspective of the themes I have presented.
