Black and White Wildlife Fine Art Photos: “Purple Herons”

As professional wildlife photographer, I forever have a passion for wetlands whether for the landscapes or animals that live there. Migratory birds are among the most common species in these areas, which are often infested with mosquitoes.

Purple herons are an emblematic species for many wildlife photographers. I have dedicated a collection of lights and colors art photographs to them. This time, I chose to create a black and white series to better showcase these graceful birds when they are hunting or flying.

Photographing a purple heron is not an easy task. Being a migratory bird, the purple heron is very silent when flying, and it is also suspicious of humans. All my photos were made from floating blinds in different wetlands. In a floating blind, the photographer spends his time looking in front of him through a small skylight. Only after long hours of patience, is it possible for a photographer to grasp the attitudes of a purple heron.

Wildlife photography is a true test of patience. But how satisfied I am when I can grasp unique moments, especially when I am able to create exquisite art prints made from my artistic photographs.

As experienced nature photographer, experience has taught me that it takes a long time to make beautiful artistic photographs. This series does not deviate from my rule. More than 5 years of work have been necessary to make these wildlife pictures.

Indeed, on the field, I must respect the rules of my artistic vision. Despite my knowledge in wildlife photography, each year I continue to learn new things about the behavior of animals and their habits. I also learn how to better photograph them within their natural habitat. It is through this experience that I can communicate through my photographs of art.

As professional wildlife photographer, I attach significant importance to the construction of my art photographs.
