November 2016. Landscape Photo Project in the Canyons of Antelope

Formes étranges, structures et textures dans Antelope Canyon.
Formes étranges, structures et textures dans Antelope Canyon.

November 2016. We went to photograph the two canyons of Antelope in the state of Arizona. These two canyons, which only measure a few hundred meters, are globally famous for their particular structures and unique colors.

Photographing Antelope Canyon has now become a real challenge; hordes of tourists form phenomenal queues at the entrance. A year ago it was still possible to book tours specially designed for 6 photographers. Today, these photo tours are becoming rare because the owners prefer to have dozens of people for a single guided tour instead of 6 photographers for 3 hours.

It is now almost impossible to use a tripod inside the canyons because there are so much people crawling in the small sandy canyons. It is necessary to work handheld with great sensitivities. Indeed, at this time of year, the light is very weak because the sun is always on the horizon; thus the light cannot vertically penetrate in the form of wells as it does in summer.

During this session at Page, we made 3 different photo sessions to make our shots. Finally, the challenge was extremely difficult.

Throughout the shooting hours, we were compelled to respect our artistic approach in order to avoid distractions. Focusing on details, we worked on textures, structures, and shapes. We did not photograph the large rooms or the skies.

The Antelope canyons are private properties managed by Navajo Indians. The admission fees have become very high over time. Several sessions are necessary to realize a very good series. Photographing Antelope Canyon has also become quite expensive. The budget for making good photos is high: several hundred dollars. This year will certainly not be the best in terms of creativity but we will certainly retain some interesting photographs that will allow us to add to our collections titled, "shades of blacks and whites" or "lights and colors".

This photo project is part of a much larger and ambitious project that we have been pursuing for years "The landscapes of the United States".

October 2016. Wildlife photo project about the rut of the red deer in France

During the fall 2016, we continued our wildlife photography project dedicated to the call of the deer in France. This year, we chose the Charente-Maritime for its special and unusual lights.

2016 will remain for us an exceptional year as the morning mists were very dense and persistent. This year 2016 will also be marked by a late slab Charente-Maritime. The excessive heat of the early autumn (over 32 degrees some days) delayed the heats of red deer hinds. It is this heat that cause the deer testosterone rise and thus the slab.

Global warming is a reality that we can check every day on the field. Periods of high heat and severe drought alternate with violent and heavy rain periods. We will remembered this year 2016 with a very dry summer and a hot autumn.

The call of the deer started very late this year. It began during the last week of September. But we must recognize that these late heats have allowed the vegetation to continue to grow. The sceneries are beautiful. Ferns are very high and they are just starting to get warmer colors. These environments are perfect for decoration of our shots.

The photos taken are intended to create art photographs for our collections "shades of blacks and whites" and "lights and colors" The pictures we show are just out of our cameras. The post treatment comes from the features available on our cameras.

About Amar Guillen, Creator of Fine Art Prints of Nature
As a photographer capturing the artistic essence for several decades, I have mastered the art of crafting an authentic experience for art enthusiasts and collectors of visual art.
When I observe my surroundings, be it friends, family, relationships, or professional contacts, I see souls in perpetual motion. Every moment of their existence is engulfed by daily hassles, work concerns, social media, online or televised information streams, and videos on the web.
Every minute, they strive to accomplish something, fearing losing ground and feeling marginalized in this frenzied society. Imprisoned by an oppressive schedule, the essential eludes them, drowned in the tumult of daily life. Is it really crucial to watch yet another cat video on the internet? Is it necessary to post twenty daily messages on social media?
Despite this, they remain constantly stressed and anxious about the challenges of the world, without being able to influence these monumental problems. It is at this moment that my artistic nature photographs come into play. Those who have had the privilege of hanging one of my works in their personal or professional space have expressed a radical transformation in their lives.
Every day, contemplating these works of art immerses them in tranquility, inner peace, and rediscovered serenity. They then understand that nature has the power to unravel tensions, to encourage reflection on the essential. Artistic photographs thus become open windows to the wonders of nature.
I have chosen to share the best of myself by helping others discover their identity, personality, style, all while reconnecting with nature. Take the time to explore my artistic photographs if you wish to reveal your true essence. Once hung in your space, your view of the world will be transformed.
